Living Space Housing has been announced as a finalist in the 2021 West Midlands Business Masters Awards, which is run by regional media platform TheBusinessDesk.com.

The Solihull-headquartered company has made the five-strong shortlist for the Property category, alongside Godwin Developments, Index West Midlands, SevenCapital and One Creative Environments. The prestigious regional Awards scheme has a total of 14 categories and the winners will be announced on 11th November at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.

Living Space Housing launched to the market in 2019 as a specialist in affordable housing. The company has now grown at such a pace, it has been able to respond to the industry-wide issues of low output caused by the Covid-19 pandemic by ramping up production. By March 2022, Living Space will have delivered 580 affordable houses, apartments and bungalows, with a value of over £70m.

Steve Davies, Managing Director of Living Space Housing said: “The whole team is delighted that we are a finalist in the West Midlands Business Master Awards, especially as this is the first year we have entered. Everyone has worked exceptionally hard to navigate our way through the continual challenges of the past 18 months. We are especially proud that our proactive response has enabled us to ramp up production, which is helping to tackle industry-wide shortfalls in the delivery of new homes.

“The impact of the pandemic is creating an unprecedented demand for affordable housing. We are on track to deliver 580 affordable homes before the end of this financial year, working with a cross-section of notable regional and national Registered Providers.”

The vast majority of the homes Living Space builds are delivered to Registered Providers (RPs) for affordable rent and shared ownership. Approximately 5% of the plots currently being delivered are being sold on the open market, with prices starting from £220,000. Living Space sources the land, achieves Full Detailed Planning consent and builds the homes for the RP, enabling them to focus on the funding and management of high-quality homes for their residents.

Sam Metcalf, Midlands Editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “We were overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of entries for this year’s awards, with many demonstrating resilience and forward-thinking in the face of the challenges brought about by the pandemic. The judges had some very tough decisions to make over the shortlist, as the competition was extremely high.

“This year’s shortlist features an array of interesting businesses, of different sizes, who are focused on ensuring success for their business, as well as supporting their employees and the regional economy.”

Living Space’s area of operation is the West Midlands conurbation, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
