Living Space Housing appoints Shane Robinson as Production Director

Living Space Housing has appointed Shane Robinson as Production Director to head up construction delivery for the rapidly growing affordable housing specialist. The combined construction value of the Solihull-based company’s development portfolio is in excess of £72million, which equates to 580 affordable houses, apartments and bungalows. 

Living Space is a development-led residential planning, design and construction services solution for Registered Providers, PRS Funds, the NHS, Universities and Defence Estates. Having launched to the market in 2019, the company is already well underway with the construction of seven residential developments across middle England, with a number of additional sites in the planning system. The young business is on track to deliver a turnover well in excess of £20m in only its second year of physical trading.

Shane Robinson joins from Countryside Properties, where he was an Associate Construction Director, with responsibility for delivering homes in partnership with local authorities and housing associations, as well as those for sale on the open market. Prior to that, he was Head of Construction for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, where he had full responsibility for delivering 13 live developments. Shane has also previously worked at Kier Living and Wates Living Space, accumulating a total of over 20 years’ experience in the housebuilding industry.

Mr Robinson is skilled at leading large teams of Contracts Managers, Site Managers and Project Managers, as well as developing the skills base of Assistants and Trainees. In addition to taking control of the management of new homes developments from the initial pre-commencement stage to completion, he is also highly experienced at supply chain selection and health and safety.

Living Space’s seven live developments comprise 51 homes at its flagship Malvern Oaks scheme in the village of Cradley, on the outskirts of Malvern, Herefordshire, which is being developed in conjunction with leading affordable housing provider Stonewater. Another 48 homes are being constructed for Stonewater at the former Victoria Carpets Sports Ground in Kidderminster.

26 homes located off Britannia Way in central Telford, Shropshire are currently being delivered for Accord Housing Association. Elsewhere in Telford, 38 homes located off Park Road in the Malinslee ward of the town, and 39 homes on former Homes England land at Majestic Way are being delivered for The Wrekin Housing Group.

40 affordable homes are being constructed for housing provider Paradigm on a site off Oak Farm Drive in the Oxfordshire village of Milcombe, while 36 homes are being constructed in conjunction with Hightown Housing Association in the village of Moggerhanger, Central Bedfordshire.
