Living Space Housing is shortlisted for three Midlands Residential Property Awards

April 26, 2021

The shortlist for Insider’s Midlands Residential Property Awards has today been announced, with Living Space Housing shortlisted in three categories. This is an incredible achievement for a business that is just embarking on its third year of physical trading.

Having received a record 77 submissions from 46 property companies, Insider revealed the shortlist of the 15 fiercely contested categories to its entire regional readership. Living Space has been shortlisted for the Social Housing Award, Housebuilder of the Year, and Small Residential Development of the Year for Malvern Oaks in Cradley, Herefordshire, which is being delivered in conjunction with Stonewater. The category winners – as well as a Property Personality of the Year – will be announced at a gala dinner on Thursday 24th June at Birmingham’s NEC.

In January, Living Space was ‘Highly Commended’ for Insider’s Residential Developer of the Year Award, which was a delayed announcement following the cancellation of the 2020 West Midlands Property Awards ceremony, due to Covid-19 restrictions. The category winner was Court Collaboration who has a number of high-rise schemes in Birmingham.

Steve Davies, Managing Director of Living Space Housing said: “It has been so exciting to be in a position to enter ourselves into three categories for the 2021 Midlands Residential Property Awards. Very few companies have seven live developments within the first two years of physical trading, which we hope will strike a chord with the judges. We are really looking forward to the award ceremony in late June, as it will be the first chance for the industry to come together and celebrate at large in over 15 months.”

Living Space is a development-led residential planning, design and construction services solution for Registered Providers, PRS Funds, the NHS, Universities and Defence Estates. Having launched to the market in 2019, the combined construction value of its development portfolio is already in excess of £72million, which equates to 580 affordable houses, apartments and bungalows.

Ian Griffin, Business Editor for media group Insider, said: "We already knew the Midlands’ residential property sector was robust and innovative. The strong growth in entry numbers only goes to highlight this. There’s a wide range of projects in this year’s shortlist, both in terms of the types of homes and their geographical location. There’s everything from a scheme involving a handful of homes to deals which are set to create thousands of new dwellings. It’s also great to see a big focus on sustainability and social care, two key areas of growth in the sector."

Living Space’s live developments comprise 51 homes at its flagship Malvern Oaks scheme in the village of Cradley, on the outskirts of Malvern, Herefordshire, which is being developed in conjunction with leading affordable housing provider Stonewater. Another 48 homes are being constructed for Stonewater at the former Victoria Carpets Sports Ground in Kidderminster. 26 homes located off Britannia Way in central Telford, Shropshire are currently being delivered for Accord Housing Association. Elsewhere in Telford, 38 homes located off Park Road in the Malinslee ward of the town, and 39 homes on former Homes England land at Majestic Way are being delivered for The Wrekin Housing Group. 40 affordable homes are being constructed for housing provider Paradigm on a site off Oak Farm Drive in the Oxfordshire village of Milcombe, while 36 homes are being constructed in conjunction with Hightown Housing Association in the village of Moggerhanger, Central Bedfordshire.
