Three West Midlands-based firms win Living Space Contractor Awards

April 16, 2021

Three firms based in Halesowen, Redditch and Telford have been presented with Contractor Awards by Solihull-based Living Space Housing. The affordable housing specialist runs the quarterly award scheme to recognise and celebrate companies within its supply chain who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to deliver an exceptional standard of work.

The spring Living Space Contractor Awards have been presented to Halesowen-based IT services and support specialists Grovenet, Redditch-based TDK Plastering, and Prestige Brickwork, located in Telford.

Steve Davies, Managing Director of Living Space said: “We take a very proactive approach to keeping our supply chain as local as possible to each of our seven development sites, in order to support employment and boost each local economy. These three firms have proven that providing an exceptional, highly responsive service could still be achieved while working within the restrictions of the third Covid-19 lockdown. Each company that we have presented with a Contractor Award has put in such a terrific performance for us and really stood out. We could not have achieved what we did in the first quarter of 2021 without them.”

Grovenet supports all Living Space sites and its head office with the procurement of IT equipment, software licences and day-to-day maintenance, always providing the team with a very quick response time. TDK Plastering has delivered excellent workmanship at Living Space’s scheme of 26 homes for Accord Housing Group off Stadium Way in Telford, with both the Registered Provider and Employer’s Agent remarking that the quality is first rate. Prestige Brickwork’s performance and quality of work at both the Stadium Way and Park Road schemes in Telford has been very good, with Living Space and Prestige working closely together on resource levels.

Ross Hingley, Director of Grovenet said: “Grovenet is delighted to receive this award and it is a privilege to work with Steve Davies, Paul Breen and the team, supporting the IT requirements of this rapidly expanding business. Living Space’s ethos is clear to see when we visit the head office in Solihull or any of the live construction sites, and we are really grateful that everyone is so friendly and appreciative.”

The combined construction value of Living Space’s live and oncoming development portfolio is in excess of £72million, which equates to 580 affordable houses, apartments and bungalows.  To ensure staff, contractors and visitors can work safely, all Living Space sites adhere to its Covid-19 Safe Operating Procedure, which was compiled with Government and Construction Leadership Council guidance.
