Living Space Secures First Development Agreement with Housing Plus Group

Living Space, the Solihull-based affordable housing specialist, has officially signed its first development agreement with Housing Plus Group, marking the start of an exciting partnership. The joint project, a £10m scheme at Cedars Drive in northern Shrewsbury, will deliver 38 high-quality affordable homes, with the main construction works starting in early January.

Archaeological works on the site have now been completed, and construction is now underway. The development will offer a mix of shared ownership and social rent homes, including 4 one-bedroom maisonettes, 2 one-bedroom bungalows, 13 two-bedroom houses, 18 three-bedroom houses, and 2 four-bedroom houses. Sustainable features such as air source heat pumps, solar panels, and EV charging points will be included.

The mix of homes, for social rent and shared ownership, will provide affordable housing options for both individuals and families to rent or to help them get onto the housing ladder. By installing air source heat pumps and solar PV panels too, all future residents will be able to reduce their carbon footprint making these homes energy efficient as well as comfortable and affordable for our customers.” 

Whilst certain members of the teams have worked together previously prior to The Wrekin Housing Group merging with Housing Plus Group, this Cedars Drive development represents Living Space’s first project directly with Housing Plus Group. The scheme also highlights the company’s expanding role in supporting Registered Providers across the UK.
